About Microsoft Edge
Microsoft Edge was developed by Microsoft Corporation and first released for Windows 10 and Xbox One in 2015, then for Android and iOS in 2017, for macOS in 2019, and as a preview for Linux in October 2020.
Microsoft Edge is a cross-platform web browser based on the Chromium open-source project which forms the basis of Google Chrome, so it feels very similar to it.
Edge was made to replace Internet Explorer, and runs faster and with more features.
The browser includes features found in Chrome: supports Chrome browser extensions, and has the same rendering engine as Google Chrome. It also offers some features that Google Chrome doesn’t. For example, it has a built-in tracking prevention feature and a potentially unwanted program blocker. There’s also a favorites button to the right of the address bar on Edge’s browser toolbar.
