About Google Maps
Google Maps was launched on 8 February, 2005 by Google.
Google Maps is a web mapping service developed by Google that provides detailed information about geographical regions and sites around.
In 2020, the service was used by over 1 billion people every month.
Google Maps offers satellite imagery, aerial photography, street maps, 360° interactive panoramic views of streets (Street View), real-time traffic conditions, and route planning for traveling by foot, car, bicycle and air or public transportation.
There is also available Google Maps for Android and iOS devices and it features GPS turn-by-turn navigation along with dedicated parking assistance features.
For additional information, visit their official webpage and you can download the app from the App Store or Google Play.
Why did Google Maps change logo?
To celebrate its birthday, Google Maps decided to redesign the app on mobile and to make a brand new logo too which is now more minimalistic with the maps background being replaced by a white one and the location pin icon has round edges in signature colours.
