About Kubernetes (k8s)
Kubernetes was founded by Joe Beda, Brendan Burns, and Craig McLuckie and was first announced by Google in 2014 and is now maintained by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation.
Kubernetes is an open-source system for automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.
The system allows its users to: mount and add storage to run stateful apps; make better use of hardware to maximize resources needed to run their enterprise apps; health-checking and self-healing their apps with auto placement, autorestart, auto replication, and autoscaling; orchestrating containers across multiple hosts and control and automate application deployments and updates.
